Our All-Clear solar covers are extruded to shape as part of our manufacturing process, and include form-fitted edging for greater longevity. They have been designed to help MAXIMIZE the amount of sunlight able to penetrate the deepest sections of your pool. |

Don't be fooled by the claims of the covers having DIAMOND shaped bubbles. Our round DOMED bubbles create mini-GREENHOUSES, which in effect, warms the water and helps retain heat more efficiently, and in turn insulates the pool water and prevents it from cooling down at night when temperatures drop. Solar covers having DIAMOND shaped bubbles have little to no space between them, which is contrary to the desired requirement for any solar cover. Our All-Clear Solar Covers simply magnify and radiate more of the sun's rays into your pool water working to increase the water temperature, even in the deep areas.
Solar Covers having thicknesses greater than 12mil are simply just not beneficial for use in Canada. The insulation factor of a Solar cover relates to the amount of "space" provided by the cover between the cover and the water surface. Increasing the thickness of the laminates in the cover does nothing to increase the "space" factor. If anything, a thicker Solar cover will decrease the "space" factor, in that the heavier laminate will sag, thereby reducing the available "space."
When considering that
i) the amount of available sunlight,
and
ii) the proximity of the sun in relation to the Northern hemisphere
becomes increasingly less from June 20/21 every year, (reference Summer Solstice) and that the better part of our Canadian summer months will have shorter days, it may be wiser, and certainly more efficient to have a less thicker Solar Cover.
Tests have shown that 12mil clear-domed Solar covers offer higher efficiency in heating and insulating, for use in Canadian locations.
